How to use

Type or paste text into the editor. Counts and time estimates update automatically. Use Copy Text to copy your writing or Clear Text to empty the editor.

What this tool does

Counts words, Unicode characters, non-whitespace characters, sentences, paragraphs, and lines. Paragraphs are separated by blank lines. Line counts include a trailing empty line.

Word and sentence counts use simple text rules, so abbreviations and languages without spaces may differ from a word processor. Characters are Unicode code points; joined emoji may contain several. Reading time assumes 200 words per minute and speaking time 130.
